The Whalers Youth Hockey Association is now accepting applicants for the position of association treasurer.

Treasurer Responsibilities:
The Treasurer will maintain all financial records of all Association financial activities. In
addition, the Treasurer will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Maintain all bank accounts and, together with any other officers, make
appropriate disbursement.
3. Notify the appropriate individuals and the Executive Board of accounts
receivable and delinquent accounts on a monthly basis.
4. Maintain a budget report and report monthly to the Association membership at
the regularly scheduled meetings.
5. File all Association income tax and sales tax forms.
6. At all times maintain individual member information in a confidential and
secure manner.
7. Notify the President immediately if it is discovered that confidential
information has been compromised or distributed to others.
8. Prepare a budget and schedule of fees for modification and approval of the
Executive Board.

We are happy to announce that Jared Waimon of Pro Crease Goaltending is the exclusive provider of goaltending instruction for the The Whalers Youth Hockey Association. Pro Crease Goaltending is based out of Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, CT. Jared also serves as the goalie coach for Trinity College and is one of three goalie coaches to hold an official position with the USNTDP based in Ann Arbor, Mi. The Whalers will be holding our Summer Skills Sessions for all Whaler players at the Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, and Bantam levels on Tuesday nights beginning on June 19^th.

The Skill Sessions will run from June 19th through August for 10 sessions. 

The Skill Sessions for the Mites and Squirts will start at 7:00PM.

The Pee Wees and Bantams will start at 8:00PM. 

The Skill Sessions will be conducted by Whaler Coaching and Skills Director Mike Kingston.

The total cost for the summer skills sessions will be $175 in advance online, $200 in person the first night of skills.

In an effort to promote and further the safety of our players beginning with the 2012-2013 season, The Whalers Youth Hockey Organization is establishing a safety committee to identify and address safety issues applicable to our teams and players.  This committee will be responsible for identifying safety issues and recommending solutions.  Among the issues to be considered are training relative to on-ice injuries, the establishment of a concussion assessment and response policy, and measures to limit or reduce injuries for all our players.  Anyone interested in participating in this committee or requiring additional information is requested to contact Kate Noe at   or 860.302.6670

You can now connect with the Whalers youth hockey programs by using....

www.whalersyouthhockey.com  or  www.whalersyouthhockey.org

The former web domain of www.mcyha.org will still be active until the domain expires.
